Rather than having to put up with lots of blurry or low-quality images, there are things that you can do to make your photos look all the better.

Think about location
The personality of your pet can have an impact on the photo that you take, which means that you need to pick a location that is going to make them feel most at ease. If they are relatively placid and if they are happy to doze and nap, then you may want to capture images of them at home. If they are lively and like to run around and play, then it makes sense to try out an outdoor space instead. Try and pick somewhere that you and your pet know well, as this is going to put you both at ease.
Take a close shot
While you may think that your pet is large, they are still small compared to the world around them. This means that you need to focus on them in any shot. Of course, it isn’t always simple to get up close to them, particularly if they find standing still a challenge. However, you should always think of this as a chance to capture their personality as best you can. If you are going to find it a struggle to get close to your pet, then you need to make sure that you have a zoom lens with you, which will help you to take beautiful images.
Try taking a photo on their level
It is incredibly commonplace to find photos of pets being taken at the level of the photographer rather than the pet. This is a bit of a mistake as it can leave you far away from your subject, as well as not giving you the very best viewpoint possible. While it is okay to take some photos on your level, it is also a great idea to try and take some on their level too. Which will give your photos a special touch.
Bring someone special into it
Why not combine an image of your pet with an image of someone else special to you? Not only does this bring a sense of perspective to your picture, but also means that you have an image that you can keep for many years to come.
